Obama XBOX campaigning

You have to give the Obama campaign props on their innovative advertising. Not only has he blitzed the internet and text messages, but he has now began to advertise in XBOX 360 games. Courting younger voters is a brilliant idea (even if John Stossel seems to disagree), and may push Obama to a huge victory in November.

To vote for Obama press: X-∆-∆

This actually touches on something I want to write about, but first: isn't this a sign of how much money that Obama has raised? It's remarkable (although it's worth noting that advertising in X360 games probably wouldn't cost that much.) I'm surprised he hasn't taken a radio channel in the latest GTA.

One more offhand note: Does anyone else think GOTV is a weird thing? I mean, I know it's important, but I just can't imagine a mindset where 1) I'm not going to vote, even though I'm registered and 2) once someone calls me or knocks on my door, I will.

Don't get me wrong, busy people, kids, harried, stress, 2 to 3 jobs, etc., but it's just odd. And it (GOTV) is apparently that last push across the goal line for a successful Presidential campaign.

You nailed it with the second paragraph. It is hard to fathom but people just think they are too busy.

I can't imagine voting if it meant several hours of waiting in line which rumor has it occurs. Ridiculous.

Love the GTA radio idea. Obama has purchased a full time paid ad on Direct TV and thus he has his own channel.

Do you guys buy into the Bradley Effect? It this possible? That people are so worried about a poll they lie.

I'm predicting Obama's fundraising numbers in September to reach +80 million. May even be higher. When you can afford to buy 30 mins of primetime air on three networks 4-5 days before the election, that's a lot of cash.

That's actually another thing I don't understand: why don't county clerks and the like understand that demand is going to be high, etc.? I think it's a sign of either poor planning or high levels of new (slow) voters.

As for the Bradley effect, it was probably a real effect back in 1982, but probably less so now. I'm sure that people who have such opinions (>60, white) have learned to hide those opinions in polite company. It will be interesting to see if Obama has a Bradley effect or (maybe) a reverse Bradley effect...
