Science: Financial support for science is understandably a debatable issue. However, if McCain chooses to politicize scientific reports to influence policy making like the Bush Administration has done, the choice is a no brainer.

Tabloids?

I found this article to be very insightful. It's extremely refreshing to hear a presidential candidate speak about education and other intellectual matters without complete contempt and disgust for the people and the science behind the matter. This speaks towards what Barack Obama is as a professor in the classroom, but also hints at his overall approach to policy implementation. Informed, educated and thoughtful.

I can't say that all of the financial support should be enacted, as Rich says, the funding is debatable. But its Obama's respect for the study of a subject and the people, who like us have devoted their lives to the study of a subject or area of research that is compelling for me.

Really, more on the science debate soon. I think there's a lot to say about it, but I want to get it right.

But first, wow, the Irish are in trouble.

And second, does anyone think "Country First" sounds suspiciously like a bank that's getting hit hard by the foreclosure crisis?
