I thought it was interesting that whenever there is an issue someone disagrees with they immediately pull out the communism claims. This is probably rooted in the fear of communism that was rampant during the Cold War and still exists today.
Yeah, it annoys. Fascism suffers similarly -- American discourse would be a lot more civil (and perhaps more fun) if both Stalin and Hitler were retired from use.
