I guess there are people who are upset (see comments, natch) that the USSS did not react more forcefully. Personally, I think it was handled with an appropriate level of restraint.
I guess I would have liked to have seen the bodyguard move to W's side just a little quicker, but what do I know?

It is my understanding that shoes were, indeed, returned to the culprit. But, to add insult to injury, both feet had been sacrificed.
It is obviously embarassing to have this done to the president of our country; YMMV on whether he deserved it.
That being said, we can be proud of our president's quicks.
